Bonsenkitchen is one of the budget brands that fill the first page of any search for a cheap vacuum sealer. The machines are slim, inexpensive and come with a starter roll or bags, and the brand's own rolls are better specified than many name-brand ones. The open question is whether a budget Bonsenkitchen vacuum sealer can do what you need, or whether it will frustrate you on the first bag of marinated chicken.
The answer depends on what you seal. For dry foods, leftovers and occasional freezer bags, a Bonsenkitchen is a reasonable value. For wet foods, long sessions or sous vide every week, spend a little more. This review covers the models on Bonsenkitchen's US site, what independent lab reviewers have reported, and the alternatives worth the step up.
We did not test these sealers. Specs come from Bonsenkitchen's product pages; performance notes come from published third-party lab reviews, which we name.

The Bonsenkitchen vacuum sealers, reviewed
1. Bonsenkitchen VS3201: Best Bonsenkitchen Overall
Who it's for: home cooks who want a budget sealer that still gives them some control.
The VS3201 is the most complete model on Bonsenkitchen's site. It lists a 160 W motor and -70 kPa vacuum, the strongest rating in the lineup, and a stainless finish. Its five modes are the useful ones: Dry for automatic vacuum and seal, Vac to control the vacuum manually and then press Seal (handy for bread and berries), Seal alone for chip bags, Marinate with an external canister, and Accessory for jars and wine stoppers. A built-in 13.43 in. cutter and a roll slot let you make custom bags, and the box includes an 11 in. x 10 ft roll and two external hoses. Bonsenkitchen says its "Globefish technology" lets it seal 40 bags continuously in about 15 minutes.
What it lacks is a dedicated moist mode or double seal, so for juicy meat you will rely on chilling the food and stopping the vacuum manually. The page does not list weight or a warranty term. Dimensions are 15.43 x 9.37 x 3.85 in.
Pros
- Strongest listed vacuum in the lineup
- Manual Vac mode for soft foods
- Built-in cutter and roll slot
Cons
- No moist mode or double seal listed
- Warranty term not stated
- Continuous-use claim is the brand's

2. Bonsenkitchen V4100: Best for Batches
Who it's for: people who seal a bulk pack or a garden harvest in one session.
The V4100 is pitched at speed. Bonsenkitchen lists Vac & Seal, Pulse Vac, Seal, Extended Seal and Accessory modes, says it uses four upgraded vacuum pumps, and claims it can seal 50 bags in about 20 minutes. Pulse control lets you stop before a fish fillet or a loaf is crushed, and Extended Seal adds heat for thicker or slightly damp bags. Bonsenkitchen describes a 3-year quality commitment, the clearest warranty language in its lineup, and the box art shows bags up to 11.8 in.
Bonsenkitchen does not publish power, vacuum rating or dimensions for this model, and its collection page showed it as sold out while the product page offered it for sale. Check stock and the full spec sheet on the listing you buy from.
Pros
- Pulse vacuum and extended seal
- Batch-oriented design
- 3-year commitment stated
Cons
- Vacuum, power and size not published
- Stock status unclear
- Throughput claim is the brand's

3. Bonsenkitchen VS2100: Best Budget
Who it's for: occasional users who mainly seal dry goods, leftovers and the odd bag of chicken.
The VS2100 is the brand's best-known model. Bonsenkitchen lists a 120 W motor, -60 kPa vacuum, an 11.81 in. maximum seal width and a 10 to 12 second cycle, with a wet/dry mode switch and an external vacuum hose for canisters. The kit includes five bags, a hose and a spare foam seal. It is the cheapest way into a heat sealer that takes standard embossed bags.
Independent lab reviews are worth reading before you buy. ShouldIt (formerly HealthyKitchen101), which lab-tests vacuum sealers, reported that the original VS2100 struggled to reach a passing score on dry and moist foods because of weak suction, while noting it was one of the quietest sealers it had measured. Its review of the 2025 version reports a hinged lid, a pulse button, stronger suction, a 3-year warranty and a 2.7 lb weight, but also failed seals on its first two moist-food sous vide attempts and a lid that needs firm two-handed pressure. Bonsenkitchen's page also says the wet mode preserves cured meat and seafood "for up to 25 days," which we would not rely on: home vacuum sealing does not extend the safe refrigerator time for fresh seafood.
Pros
- Lowest price tier
- Wet/dry modes and canister hose
- Quiet, per lab measurements
Cons
- Weak suction in independent tests of the original
- Moist sealing is inconsistent
- Warranty not stated on the product page

Bonsenkitchen alternatives worth the step up
4. Nesco VS-12 Deluxe: Best Step-Up Alternative
Who it's for: anyone who seals meat weekly and wants more reliable moist sealing.
The VS-12 costs more than a Bonsenkitchen but fixes its gaps. Nesco lists a 130 W, 25.1 inHg double vacuum pump, Dry and Moist seal settings with an optional double seal, Normal and Gentle pressure, pulse vacuum, and built-in roll storage with a cutter. It is still compact and carries a 1-year warranty, and Nesco's manual rates it for one cycle every two minutes. Our full Nesco VS-12 Deluxe review covers it in depth.
Pros
- Moist mode plus double seal
- Gentle pressure and pulse
- Roll storage and cutter
Cons
- Higher price tier
- 1-year warranty
- One cycle every two minutes

5. Anova Precision Vacuum Sealer Pro: Best for Sous Vide
Who it's for: sous vide cooks who want a sealer built for wet proteins.
Anova's Pro (model ANVS02) has a double sealer, a wet function that uses lower suction for juicy food, pulse and external pulse vacuum, an accessory port and hose, and storage for a full roll with a sliding cutter (a 19 ft roll is included). It measures 14.75 x 7 x 4.3 in. Anova's listing is inconsistent on warranty length, so confirm it at purchase.
Pros
- Wet mode, pulse and double seal
- Roll storage and cutter
- Accessory port
Cons
- Warranty terms unclear on the listing
- Weight not published
- Mid-range price tier

Buying guide: is a Bonsenkitchen vacuum sealer right for you?
What you seal
Budget sealers do best with dry foods: nuts, cereal, cheese blocks, frozen-first portions and leftovers. Moist, bloody or marinated meat is where weak suction and single seals show. If that is most of what you seal, look for a moist mode, a double seal and pulse control, or skip ahead to a chamber sealer. For soups and sauces, see how to vacuum seal liquids.
How often and how much
Bonsenkitchen's batch claims (40 bags in about 15 minutes on the VS3201, 50 in about 20 on the V4100) are the brand's figures. If you process meat in bulk, a sealer with a published duty cycle and cooling fan is a safer bet; see our best vacuum sealers roundup.
Vacuum strength
Bonsenkitchen rates its models from -60 to -70 kPa (about 17.7 to 20.7 inHg). Nesco lists 25.1 inHg for the VS-12. Higher vacuum matters most for long freezer storage and dense cuts; for dry pantry goods, it matters less.
Size and storage
All three Bonsenkitchen models are slim and light enough for a drawer or cabinet. If counter space is your main constraint, compare them with the picks in our compact vacuum sealer guide.
Bags
Bonsenkitchen's own rolls are a highlight: 4 mil, embossed, BPA-free and rated for sous vide up to 230 °F (110 °C), boiling and the microwave. Any major-brand embossed roll up to about 11 in. wide also works. See our vacuum sealer rolls guide.
Warranty
Bonsenkitchen's VS2100 and VS3201 pages link to warranty registration but do not state the term, while the V4100 page lists a 3-year commitment. Keep your receipt and register the product.
Food safety reminder
No sealer, budget or premium, makes perishable food shelf-stable. Clemson Cooperative Extension says vacuum packaging does not allow you to store foods at room temperature, and warns that Clostridium botulinum can grow in moist, low-acid foods without oxygen. Refrigerate sealed perishables at 40 °F or below, per USDA FSIS, and use them within the normal fridge window for that food. Freeze for long storage: at 0 °F, food stays safe indefinitely and storage times are about quality.
How we chose
We did not test Bonsenkitchen sealers. We used Bonsenkitchen's US product pages for specs and modes, read published lab reviews from ShouldIt for performance context, and compared the lineup with established alternatives from Nesco and Anova using their official specs. We note where Bonsenkitchen's pages leave out key specs (weight, warranty terms, V4100 power and vacuum) and where its claims are the brand's own. Newer Bonsenkitchen model numbers sold through third-party listings were left out when we could not find a manufacturer spec page.
FAQ
Is Bonsenkitchen a good vacuum sealer brand?
It is a reasonable budget brand for light, mostly dry sealing. Its machines are compact and inexpensive, and its rolls carry a high 230 °F heat rating. Independent lab reviews have been mixed on suction and moist-food sealing, so for frequent use, wet foods or big batches, a step-up model is the safer buy.
Which Bonsenkitchen vacuum sealer is best?
The VS3201 has the most complete feature set on Bonsenkitchen's site: a -70 kPa rating, five modes including manual vacuum and marinate, a built-in cutter and roll storage. The VS2100 is the budget pick, and the V4100 adds pulse vacuum and an extended seal for batch work.
Can Bonsenkitchen vacuum sealers seal liquids?
Not directly. Like all external sealers, they pull liquid toward the seal. Freeze soups and sauces flat first and seal the frozen block, or use a chamber sealer. The VS2100 has a wet mode for moist foods, not liquids.
What bags work with a Bonsenkitchen vacuum sealer?
Embossed vacuum bags and rolls up to the machine's seal width, about 11.8 in. Bonsenkitchen's own 4 mil rolls are rated for sous vide up to 230 °F, and other major-brand embossed rolls also work. Smooth chamber pouches do not.
What is the Bonsenkitchen warranty?
The VS2100 and VS3201 product pages link to warranty registration but do not state a term. The V4100 page lists a 3-year quality commitment, and a lab review of the 2025 VS2100 reports a 3-year warranty. Confirm the term on your box or listing before you buy.
Verdict
A Bonsenkitchen vacuum sealer makes sense if you seal mostly dry food a few times a month and want to spend as little as possible; the VS3201 is the model to pick for its manual vacuum, marinate mode and cutter. If you seal meat every week, the Nesco VS-12 Deluxe is worth the step up, and sous vide cooks should look at the Anova Precision Vacuum Sealer Pro. Comparing budget brands?
